Lack of sleep causes a disorder termed
as insomnia. It can happen due to many reasons. These reasons can be
interlinked or they can be individual in nature. Sleep disorders are caused
generally due to physiological or psychological factors that play a great role
in affecting the mental as well as the physical health and well-being of a
person. Sleep disorders are such types of problems that have their root cause
arising from reasons that are relevant and related to our environment and
surrounding.
What causes insomnia?
The factors that are identified as
being the cause behind such sleep disorders arise from our surroundings. These
causes can be either interlinked or they can be alone and individual. These
factors can have either chronic or acute effects on our mind and body in a
negative manner. A few factors are discussed below that lead a person towards
being sleepless at night.
Addictions
One such factor that leads to being
sleepless at night time can be having a certain bad habit or having any sort of
addiction. Addiction to any drug or any alcohol-based substance can become a
reason behind being a person who faces problems having sleep.
Bad food habits
Having too much of junk food or
unhealthy stuff regularly can lead to a bad diet and a bad digestive system.
This can further lead to various digestive problems. Poor digestion can lead to
sleep issues such as poor quality sleep, inability to fall or stay asleep,
waking up tired and sluggish the next day, low energy levels etc.
Having too much of certain drugs and
medicines
Again, having any certain medicine or
being on a certain medication for a considerably long period of time can lead
to having various neurological problems that can also affect our sleeping
ability and sleeping factor.
Excess work
Working is important for money, but
excess work leads to expenditure of money behind treating the diseases caused
due to excessive work. Too much work can cause stress on the mind and the body
that depriving the same of having slept at night.
Being depressed
Being a depressed person is also an
issue that leads to becoming sleepless at night. Depression arises out of being
worried that too leads to being a sleepless human. Depression when coupled with
certain other factors can become very fatal to the mind and the body of the
person.
Having anxiety issues
Anxiety issues arise out of
depression and being worried over something for a long time. Depression can
have the level of anxiety increased by multiple levels. Anxiety’s effect on the
person can be seen through his mental as well as his mental stability.
